Challenge Time and CHA recap

Hey everyone!! As most of you know the the BIG crafting convention, CHA, was this past weekend (Saturday-Tuesday) in Anaheim...pretty much my backyard lol. I was planning on going up for the weekend but plans changed and my husband coincidentally had his own trade show to go to in Las Vegas :) So I just went up on Saturday. Although a very long day it was a blast none the less. It was a busy day and lots of hopping here and hopping there. Looking at this, saying hi, saying goodbye, etc. you get my point, right?!?! Well here are some highlights of my trip.

Excited about free gelato from Faber Castell

We are so excited to be eating our Double Scoop :) It was pretty tasty might I add!

Well now that CHA is over I decided to play along with a couple challenges.
I really liked the bold colors of the Runway Inspired Challenge and I decided to pair it with Retro Sketches, although I did a very loose interpretation of the sketch I still followed it :)

Here is my card based off both of the challenges.

I paired the bold red and blue together with bits of black accents and notched the one side of the card for rounded corners. I used my scor tape to punch out a butterfly and make glittery and glued it on top of my black twine and pearls. I stamped and embossed the happy birthday from Sweet Stamp Shop and finished off with some red gems.

Elegant Sentiments

Well, off to bed now got lots to do tomorrow, including getting my car serviced :(

Happy crafting

Challege Time

Hi friends,

Here with a late night post. I wanted to get in on some challenges this week. I feel they are ALL so inspiring it was hard to choose where to start.

But up first I played along with Curtain Call Inspirational Challenge: Carnival Craze  I Love this one so much I might even make something else to enter! I mean, WOW, check out all the ideas to choose from!
I also tied it into CAS(E) This Sketch! #41

Here is my card:

On this card I used the Admit One stamp set from Sweet Stamp Shop
Teresa Collins sequins, My Minds eye buttons and enamel dots, October Afternoon pattern paper, Luminarte H2O's in Mint Julep, May Arts ribbon.

Next up I played along with

Dynamic Duos #66-Light Aqua and Black with the OPTION of Embossing

I just love love love this color scheme. I HAD to get in on this!!!

And I paired it with retro sketches #77

And here is my take on them:

On this card I used: SRM Twine and sticker sentiment, Teresa Collins paper and embellishments, Bazzill cardstock

Well thanks for stopping by for my almost midnight post lol....and I think I will probably retake these pics in the am when there will be better lighting. I don't think I am crazy about them so I will sleep on it :)

>>>>>>>>>>> I edited the pics and updated so the lighting and coloring in the pic is way better, none of that yelllow weird look :)  So sorry if you had to see the terrible pics!!! It sure is amazing what natural light can do for your photos!<<<<<<<<<<

Card Challenge (And Learn About My New Fave) AND... Winner Announced For Prize Giveaway

Hey everyone....hope you are all enjoying your Wednesday. It's been quiet the busy week for me. I have had lots of errands to take care of, and so, have been out and about, BUT... I did find the time to make a new friend and catch up with old ones.

One thing that we crafty girls like to do is card challenges. We played along with a few of them.

Check it out...

For this card I played along with CAS(E) This Sketch and for the first time Fusion Card Challenge. I am loving how Fusion Card Challenge works too. (You can either use the sketch or the color combo or both).
I bought some new bright colored pens from Michael's the other day and loved how perfectly they went with the color scheme of the the Fusion Challenge and then decided to pair it with CAS(E) This sketch.

Next up I again used the Fusion Card challenge but decided to go with both color scheme and sketch. I really loved the yellow flower and wanted to really accent that color.
And finally for my third card ;) I added in Retro Sketches but still kept the Fusion color scheme...and well I actually think I hit their sketch as well...in a way! I am seeing do you????  :)....yep they may be my new fave challenge blog!
For all the card sentiments I used Sweet Stamp Shop stamps.

Shine On

I went a little green crazy this time, but, green is my favorite color so I was more than happy to go a little overboard.  But here is my inspiration for my card Challenge: Retro Sketches and Simon Says Stamp "Bit O Green"

Here is my take on this

Look at all that green. I didn't really have a plan for much, all I knew is I had to use that super cute rainbow stamp from Sweet Stamp Shop. I tried a few different things...well...actually a lot of different things...lol but I was determined to make that rainbow work for me and after cutting and arranging and rearranging different papers and "stuff" I FINALLY had the perfect backdrop for my rainbow.
This was so fun to glitter and then I added white flower soft to the clouds, it was the perfect touch to finish the rainbow off. Then, to add some extra pop I added some yellow. It is so complimentary to the greens but adds a nice little something something.

So go ahead shine on!!!
