Challenge Time with Snowflakes and Knit!

Hi,

I decided to play along with a couple challenges this week. I haven't had any time at all with Christmas quickly approaching and I feel like I am STILL getting caught up from being gone to be even able to think about making some Christmas cards but I had a little time, so I got down to it!

I played along with Curtain Calls "Sweet Snowflakes" and boy are the sweet. I just love cookies and I love snow so how could I say no :)
I also paired it up with CASology's Que Word "knit". I liked the word and it just sounds soft and cozy. I didn't have anything in the way of stamps or stickers for this one, BUT, I did have really pretty piece of scrap crochet type of ribbon that I think goes perfect for knit.

I wasn't sure which picture I like better. I am trying my hand at adding more than one card to my pictures. I just love how these two cards turned out. I originally was only going to make one card but decided to cut the white cardstock with the snowflakes in half. I used a My Minds Eye Christmas stamp set to stamp the snowflakes in various colors. I then used my glue pad and re-stamped over all of them and added some of the Elizabeth Crafts Micro Fine glitter to all of the stamped images. I also added some of the glitter to my little snowflake wood piece to give an extra little sparkle. I finished off with some of my crochet ribbon and a pinky colored ribbon and then added  a Sweet Stamp Shop sentiment to the bottom.

I also made this fun little deer and snowflake card for fun. :)

Here are the Sweet Stamp Shop sets I used for the sentiments.

Snowflakes

Hi Everyone,

Hope your weekend went well. We finally got our tree set up and decorated. Still need to add some garland to finish it off, but it is looking so beautiful!! My husbands grandparents were downsizing this year so they gave us their old tree...and boy is it so much bigger than our last :) I just love it. It is finally looking like christmas in our house. Will post some pics later!

I just wanted to remind you guys that if you are wanting to apply for the fusion design team today is the last day to get your application in.  You can go HERE. I am just loving the inspiration for this challenge right now.

Here is a card I made based off this. I FINALLY used my October Afternoon Christmas embellishments from a few years ago...I just LOVED the collection so much I was having a hard time parting with it! HAHA anyone else ever have that problem??

Here is my card:
I used the red and white as my inspiration for the card.  I used my O.A. snowflake rub ons for the background and a cute little chipboard sentiment from O.A. as well and finished off with some ribbons and pearl pins. Fun Huh??

Wanna apply for the design Team?? GO HERE
Wanna play along? Go HERE

I have really enjoyed playing along and my time as a guest designer with fusion.

Thanks so much for stopping in!

Fusion Design Team Call and I am Guest Designing

Ok so I am a little late to the party, well alotta late to the party. I had to leave town for a family emergency and with only a couple days to get everything prepped and ready, I put (or at least I thought) all my ducks in a row and had everything all scheduled...and then...NOTHING...yep nothing happened and my post disappeared...ugggghhhh blogger. SO sorry guys. But like they say better late than never, right???

I am so excited to be sharing this post today b/c Fusion Card Challenge is COMING BACK...THAT'S RIGHT....THEY ARE COMING BACK and to share the news and help inspire, I was asked to guest design for this special Month long challenge. That's right. One month to play along and I think you are going to LOVE love love the the inspiration.

And if that wasn't exciting enough...They are doing a design team call. Fusion is looking for 5 new designers to add to the team. Think you may be interested. Just go HERE for all the details and how to apply. Hurry tho, the call ends on Dec. 17th.

 Here is the challenge:

Oh how I love christmas, and isn't that picture stunning?!?!

Here is what I did. I just loved the presents under the tree and the badge from the sketch so I combined the two to create my  fun little gift bags.
I found these fun red paper bags and simply "Personalized" them. I added some washi tape around the top of the bag in two different widths and then added a glitter letter initial and the leopard print flower.  I was teaching a christmas class and gave these to all of my students. It is so simple and SUPER easy to really spice up those plain boring bags and make them pop without spending a ton of money. Don't you think?!?!

Don't feel like "trying out" for the design team you can play along HERE

Thanks for stopping by, checking out my project, and saying HI.

Happy Crafting,

Giveaway Time and Sneak Peeks :)

First and foremost I want to say Happy Veteran's Day!!

I cannot thank our service members enough for all that they do! Past and Present I am proud to honor you today!

(And My Love, I am so thankful for the time you put into the service! You have been such a role model for our children (and me), to show dedication, loyalty, and honor in a way that not many can do! Thank you for showing us that. And even tho you aren't in the military any more you continue to show us how amazing and completely cool and awesome you are! I love you with every piece of my being!!)

Ok, so now we are on to other fun (and not so sappy) and exciting news!!!!

Who doesn't love a giveaway?!?!? I know I do!!! And I am super excited about this particular one because it is FULL of some awesomeness, including: Scor-Tape, Glitter, and Envelope Maker!!!! And a big lovely thank you to Theresa(The Scrapbooking Queen)  for donating all these goodies!!!

(If you came over to visit me today from Sweet Stamp Shop's Blog than you know what's going on, if not go HERE to see the first part of this post. and how to be entered into to win this lovely giveaway!)

So, like I had said before about Scor-Tape being VERY versatile, did you know that you can use it with embossing powder?? Yes, you can pour embossing powder directly onto the scor tape, heat it up, and emboss it! You cannot only emboss it, but tear it too because it is a paper adhesive. Unlike  red-line tapes (i.e. ThermoWeb's Super Tape, which is great as well, but...) which are made of plastic therefore you cannot just tear it or emboss it, It will melt. So, to emboss it is as easy as pie... Simply pour your embossing powder onto the adhesive and heat until set, just like you would normally do with a stamped image you are going to emboss.

Check out the fun I had with the Scor-Tape and embossing powder.

I simply made a border around my card with the 1/4" and applied silver embossing powder and then I made a second border on the inside with the 1/8" and applied a mint colored embossing powder. I just love how simple and easy it was to create a frame on my card. I finished off with a sentiment from the Chalkboard Sign set from Sweet Stamp Shop. You can find that HERE.

What do you guys think? Easy??? Leave me a comment below, I would love to hear. Do you have some projects/Cards where you have used Scor-Tape just leave me the link below I would love to see :)

If you haven't been to the Sweet Stamp Shop blog you can check it out HERE! It is full of more GREAT ways to incorporate Scor-Tape into your crafting projects! (Also, the Sweet blog will have ALL the details on how to get in on the giveaway and to see everything that you can win)

As always...Thank You for stopping in!

Some Of My Favorite Things

Hey everyone, I thought I would just pop in real quick and show you a card I made. I have had a rough week and didn't get a whole lot of crafting done,  but I did manage to still work on a few things one of them being this fun little birthday card.

I pretty much pulled all my favorite things to craft with and compiled them onto one card! Here is a quick little run down of what some of my favorite things are. I know you guys are all dying to know lol

1) Sweet Stamp Shop Stamps
2) SRM Stickers
3) Enamel Dots
4) Spray Mists (Heidi Swapp, Dylusions, and Glimmer Mist were used in the making)
5) Kraft Paper
6) October Afternoon Papers
7) Adhesive (of course I have to have that on my list! And that includes a bunch of different kinds: Pop dots, liquid, Scor Tape)

So, nothing like a good birthday card ready to go whenever I need it.

I am so happy with how this came out! Here are some of the exact products I used:

Masking Fun

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome! Hope everyone is doing great :)

I have been playing around with the new release stamps and having so much FUN! Are those sets not to die for???

Well one of my favorite techniques to do is masking. I am a layer and texture kinda girl and masking can allow you to achieve that "illusion" with out adding any extra stickers, paper, ribbon, etc....but, well, let's be honest, some of us >>>me<<< can't help but to put a little ribbon or glitter. They are my weakness! So, I am really excited to show you this card because I really wanted to push myself to really only use the stamps and masking to really make a CAS that made a statement and literally that is what I did.

Check it out:

See...Just a little masking and BAM a card that pops lol.  This is such an easy look to achieve and you can have so much fun with it! Here is a little masking run down.

1) What ever image you want to be on "top" stamp first on your card.
2) Re-stamp that image on a scratch piece of paper and carefully cute out.
*HINT* when trimming out image cut on the line not above the line. You want to be as close as possible so it doesn't look like you have gaps.
3) Using removable adhesive placed trimmed out image directly on top of the image you stamped on your card.
4) Stamp your image you want to be in the "background"
5) Peel off the mask you layed down and Ta-Da! You are now finished with your masking :)

I used Super Mom set for my card today
Super Mom

Here is a fun one with a little mini forest. Use the same masking technique above but stamp out a couple extra trees to use as masks so you can keep on layering up to create a forest. I punched a circle out of the center of the white and popped it up so it helped to create more dimension.  Add a little ribbon and a little border punch to the bottom and then finish up with some sequins.

Make sure to stop on over at the Sweet Stamp Shop HERE to pick up your stamps today :)

Have you played along with our current UWYH go HERE to join us!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Holiday Classes

Hi Friends,

Hope everyone is doing fantastic!! My husband and I just got back late late late last night, like 3am late,  eeek, from picking up our two boys in Northern Cali. We met my parents about halfway between our place and theirs and it was such a short but very sweet trip. We did do a couple little touristy things, like seeing Shasta Dam (Fun Fact: Shasta Dam is the 2nd largest dam in the US. The largest dam is the Grand Coulee in Washington State.) and the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a great experience for all of us and so happy we could do it as a family.

Me and Kris just arriving in Redding
Just a couple pictures that I played around with. I took so many pictures, and then on our way home I kept asking my husband to take pictures of everything lol, so he has a TON too! Well at least when we are old we won't forget because we have so many pictures to remind us.
