XOXO

Hello Everyone!!

Have you guys checked out the NEW SRM Muslin bags and Burlap Bags, yet??  I am totally in love with them. They are so versatile and fun to play with. I got to bring one home to make a sample with to put up at my work. I decided to use the muslin bag and went with a Love theme. Not only is it getting close to Valentine's day but I am simply in LOVE.  :)

This bag was so easy to make and only takes few minutes and a few supplies:
1) Muslin Bag and Love Sticker Sentiment- SRM
2)Ribbons and Jute- I used one from Maya Road and Webster's (just dug thru my stash)
3)Felt
4)Needle and Thread
4)Optional- Cardstock for backing sticker. I used black felt, so I needed something to pop the sentiment.

How To:
I trimmed my ribbons to fit my bag and glued down. ( I added a zigzag stitch to my blue ribbon to give the look of being stitched to the bag.) Looped some jute a few times and used needle and thread to stitch to the bag. Since there was a knot I wanted to make sure it stayed on the bag. Then I hand cut two hearts out of black felt. On the big heart I stitched around the perimeter. Then glued the hearts down to the bag. I finished off with my "xoxo" sentiment and adhered to the big black heart.

Isn't that so sweet? Want to change it up? You could easily add a birthday sentiment or EVEN, a welcome baby  type sentiment... Oh man I could go crazy with these bags :)

I am also adding this to the Runway Inspired Challenge. The colors pair so nicely and the ribbons remind me of the flow-y/ruffle-y-ness of the bottom of her dress.

Challenge Time and CHA recap

Hey everyone!! As most of you know the the BIG crafting convention, CHA, was this past weekend (Saturday-Tuesday) in Anaheim...pretty much my backyard lol. I was planning on going up for the weekend but plans changed and my husband coincidentally had his own trade show to go to in Las Vegas :) So I just went up on Saturday. Although a very long day it was a blast none the less. It was a busy day and lots of hopping here and hopping there. Looking at this, saying hi, saying goodbye, etc. you get my point, right?!?! Well here are some highlights of my trip.

Excited about free gelato from Faber Castell

We are so excited to be eating our Double Scoop :) It was pretty tasty might I add!

Well now that CHA is over I decided to play along with a couple challenges.
I really liked the bold colors of the Runway Inspired Challenge and I decided to pair it with Retro Sketches, although I did a very loose interpretation of the sketch I still followed it :)

Here is my card based off both of the challenges.

I paired the bold red and blue together with bits of black accents and notched the one side of the card for rounded corners. I used my scor tape to punch out a butterfly and make glittery and glued it on top of my black twine and pearls. I stamped and embossed the happy birthday from Sweet Stamp Shop and finished off with some red gems.

Elegant Sentiments

Well, off to bed now got lots to do tomorrow, including getting my car serviced :(

Happy crafting

Chalkboard Sign

I LOVE how popular the chalkboard look is right now! I work at a scrapbooking store and I am starting to see so many lines come thru the door with that look that I thought, "HHHMMMMM I should really feature this stamp set. It would coordinate so well with so many of the papers right now. And HUGE kuddos to Nicole for being so ahead of the game, huh?!?!?! I actually use this set ALOT! and one of my favorite stamps in general is that arrow. Crazy, I know but,  I probably use that arrow on about half my cards. Something about makes me so happy and my projects complete lol.

I have been on a little challenge kick lately, maybe I just need that extra little creative boost to get those juices flowing while we settle back into our school/work routine.

SO I am putting a little disclaimer today lol...I just so happened to have choose the SAME TWO challenges to play along with as Nicole did yesterday on the Sweet Stamp Shop Blog. This was not planned and I apologize for  being a repeat...BUT I would like to say, my cards are COMPLETELY different from her's. SO with all that being said...here we go :)

I just love love love the Curtain Call Challenge right now and am so inspired by it I decided to play along a second time.

Here is the inspiration
Amazing right??? So many elements to choose from!!
Here is my card:
I really wanted to incorporate the greens and blues from the picture into my card, I didn' t have quite what I was looking for so I decided to make my own. It is super easy to do and so I decided to share a little picture tutorial with you so you can do it too :)

First you will want to pick out your ink pads. I choose Peacock Feathers Distress Ink, Versa Magic Aloe Vera, and Versa Magic Aquatic Splash. They were perfect blue and green tones for creating that perfect background. You will also want to have a foam blending tool. It helps to create soft blending.
Pick your first color and apply ink in a swirly motion starting off the paper and working your way onto the paper until you have covered the area you want your ink. For me I wanted to create an ombre effect so I applied Peacock feathers to the bottom third section.
Repeat until you have applied all your colors. To help blend the colors blend them slightly up into the previous color applied.

Then, you just have to stamp and cut out the hearts and arrows in various colors. Stamp and cut out the banner piece. Adhere all the pieces to the card.
And it will look something like this. Fun huh. I loved adding the hearts and arrows to the card. It kind of reminds me of confetti or cotton candy (kind of more like the colors of cotton candy lol)

AND a little bonus for stopping in, I also played along with the Runway Inspired Challenge

I just loved the colors and the 'lines" on the dress for the inspiration. Here is what I did:
I also am entering this card into the Curtain Call Challenge: Carnival Craze

So have you added your creations to the Sweet Stamp Shop FLICKR lately???  We love to see what you have been working on lately with the Sweet Stamp Shop stamps.
