So all growing up summer was about playing at the lakes and rivers and camping, having sleep overs and enjoying a nice ice cold lemonade. I was totally channeling my inner youth when i made this card. I loosely used the sketch and the what's cooking theme as my inspiration. Although you do not cook lemonade, you still have to make it :)

Here is my card

I used the sunny days and lemonade from the Sticker Sentiments "Summer" you can find it in the shop HERE.

Looking forward to seeing your card in the gallery....Lots of options to choose from, what is your favorite??

New Fusion Challenge- {God Bless the USA!}

Hey everyone!!!
Brand new Fusion Challenge is happening!!! Are you ready for the 4th of July? Well I am :) my gramma is in town so we are off having a blast. I totally channeled the red and blue for the next challenge! Wanna play along? Just go HERE to add you card to the gallery.

PROCEDURES:
1. Play with just the sketch challenge.
2. Play with just the inspiration photo challenge.
3. Or you can create FUSION by combining BOTH challenges into one card.
4. Use the challenge graphic and link back to Fusion in your post.
5. Please read the other considerations on the Our Rules Page before playing along.
I decided to use both the sketch and the inspiration picture. I followed the sketch loosely but, I still used it as my guide for my card.
I made three pennant from two different papers and adhered down, fanned out. I placed the SRM stickers "God Bless The USA" onto black cardstock and then on to white. I finished off with a ribbon bow. (Please note: I used two different sticker sentiments to make up the whole sentiment. I used the "God bless" and a "the" from the "Shine Your Light" and "USA" from Patriotic. You can find those HERE)

Make sure to check out the rest of the design team HERE and say hello.
Thanks for stopping in and happy crafting

Just A Note

Hey Friends!!
Wow has this week been so busy! My husband has been gone so I have been running around all over the place doing errands and staying really busy! But I did sit down and make a little gem of card to show you for the current weeks fusion challenge. To play along just go right HERE. So, to get started...here is the inspiration

For my card I used the sketch as my inspiration

I used a SRM sticker for my sentiment in the center AND the cute little doily as well. I wanted it to have the extra little touch of sweetness so I broke out my pretty little flowers and added a bow and some gems.

So remember the rules:
PROCEDURES:
1. Play with just the sketch challenge.

Celebrate life

Hello everyone!
Do you ever have those days where you can reflect on life and think wow, isn't it grand? Or maybe the days where you think, well this is it, this is life? uggh! I know I do! Life it's self is such a roller coaster, so many emotions, so many ups and downs, twists and curves, but that is what makes it so great, grand, adventurous, fun, and FUNNY! Things haven't always been easy or grand, BUT they really have been adventurous. I love life so much, the beauty, the people, EVERYTHING, ok, well I may not LOVE everything but I always try to find something to love in everything, and that can be, well....challenging sometimes. My favorite days are the days when you wake up and really feel you have fresh eyes, new eyes. Everything looks like it has been awakened and rejuvenated. The sky looks bluer and so much larger, and for a moment the world doesn't feel so small, but more infinite than ever. I also feel like my love has grown and that my soul has been newly awakened, and my appreciation has deepened.  Now those, those are my most favorite days. The days you really want to jump up and down and CELEBRATE LIFE!!!  So to that, I created this:

I just love the this fun circle embossing folder. I used my Tim Holtz distress inks to add some bright, fun colors for uniqueness and some yellow enamel dots to really make it pop. Does this card not SCREAM life to you, haha?

So, what are you waiting for? Go out celebrate life, the good, the bad, the ugly, the fun and funny. Find beauty wherever you go, and open your soul to the big big world. It's amazing what you might find, even if it's your self :)

Want to celebrate more of life? There is still  plenty of time to join in our Celebration challenge at the very brand new SRM Challenge Blog. You can find all the deets and more inspiration HERE.

Thanks for stopping by!
Go CELEBRATE LIFE

So here is how the challenge will go:

  2. Take a picture and upload into the gallery HERE
  3. Maybe you want to make another something since you have a WHOLE MONTH and a PRIZE at stake
  4. Peek around at your current competition, maybe give them a high five or words of praise for the great work too :)
  5. Then come back at the end of the month and check out the Winners post. (if you are the winner make sure to collect your prize, by following the instructions on how too)

Now, that that is all under our belts and we know how to play along, here is my inspiration for our current theme "CELEBRATIONS". You can go HERE to play along.

I used my triangle embossing folder to add some fun texture to my SRM kraft bag, then did some fun layering with SRM doily, Authentique paper, and used the SRM Sticker Sentiment Birthday Greetings, and some pink pearls to finish off.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure to head on over to say hi to the rest of the design team and you can go HERE to play along with the current challenge

XOXO

Hello Everyone!!

Have you guys checked out the NEW SRM Muslin bags and Burlap Bags, yet??  I am totally in love with them. They are so versatile and fun to play with. I got to bring one home to make a sample with to put up at my work. I decided to use the muslin bag and went with a Love theme. Not only is it getting close to Valentine's day but I am simply in LOVE.  :)

This bag was so easy to make and only takes few minutes and a few supplies:
1) Muslin Bag and Love Sticker Sentiment- SRM
2)Ribbons and Jute- I used one from Maya Road and Webster's (just dug thru my stash)
3)Felt
4)Needle and Thread
4)Optional- Cardstock for backing sticker. I used black felt, so I needed something to pop the sentiment.

How To:
I trimmed my ribbons to fit my bag and glued down. ( I added a zigzag stitch to my blue ribbon to give the look of being stitched to the bag.) Looped some jute a few times and used needle and thread to stitch to the bag. Since there was a knot I wanted to make sure it stayed on the bag. Then I hand cut two hearts out of black felt. On the big heart I stitched around the perimeter. Then glued the hearts down to the bag. I finished off with my "xoxo" sentiment and adhered to the big black heart.

Isn't that so sweet? Want to change it up? You could easily add a birthday sentiment or EVEN, a welcome baby  type sentiment... Oh man I could go crazy with these bags :)

I am also adding this to the Runway Inspired Challenge. The colors pair so nicely and the ribbons remind me of the flow-y/ruffle-y-ness of the bottom of her dress.

Have you played with the muslin bags yet? Leave me a link in the comments below so I can check out what you have done :)

All You Need Is Love

Hello Everyone! Hope Everyone's morning has been wonderful!

I had some extra time this weekend and decided to play along with a couple challenges. I wanted to go a little out of my comfort zone so I played along with Dynamic Duos. The colors this week are pool party and Pink Pirouette...or more simply put...Pink and Mint. I am not typically a pink girl at all. I hardly ever craft with it, but I was loving the inspiration that the girls had put up. So, I gave it a go. I am also pairing it with Curtain Calls "Love Letter".

Go HERE to play along too

Go HERE to play along too.

So there it is folks. I LOVED how this card turned out. I used some of my stash that hadn't been touched for awhile including some old October Afternoon rub ons and some of my Favorites. :) I used Sweet Stamp Shops Chalkboard Sign, some Twine from the Twinery, Heidi Swapp Color Shine, and for the Sentiment I used SRM's Love Sticker Sentiment.

Chalkboard Sign HERE
Thanks for stopping in. :) Have you played along with any challenges this week? I would love to see what you have been working on. Just leave me a link in your comment for me to check it out :)

CHA Prep Sample Work

Hi friends,

Just popping it to share some stuff I have been working on. Never a dull moment around this house As most of you know CHA is coming up...yayay...and this year my boss has decided to get a booth for her second company she owns with her fiance, Custom Scrapbook Stuff, (a little background on Custom Scrapbook Stuff: They sell custom designed 12x12 scrapbooking paper. It is very popular for schools, weddings, baby showers, etc. You would pick out your template and then choose your colors and type in what you want it to say, for example Nooksack Valley Pioneers (that is the school and mascot I went to) or I could put Phoenix 06/05/2005 (my oldest sons birth annoucement), etc you get the point...make custom paper specific to what you want.) So just to show you how fun and cute the paper is here are some samples I made...and if you are going to CHA you can get up close and personal too! Check them out in the "New" section :)

(NOTE: So apparently my scrapbook layout pictures are not nearly as good as my card ones, so note to self...PRACTICE those photography skills! If anyone has some good advice to share on getting the best pictures of your layouts and being able to crop them without looking funny or crooked, I really NEED it!!!)
Here are two layouts I made using the custom I {heart} California paper. I embellished with some cardstock, glitter borders, flowers, SRM stickers, Twine, feathers, and more. These pictures were take when my Grandma and little brother(shown in the bottom picture :) ) came for a visit. I have had every intention of "scrapbooking" with them but have done nothing and they came in April!!

My husband used to be in the Coast Guard and of course, once again was supposed to do an album for him, but so far I have been just collecting supplies...one day...BUT right now, sad note we lost most all of his military pictures and need to find a way to recover them! We found these two, but they were small images so look a little fuzzy, oh well they still look good and he is still my superhero :)

For all the next samples I created a wedding themed set and cut the paper apart to do favors (a banner that is not shown cause I am still working on it) I used the SRM pillow boxes and SRM square boxes. They make THE PERFECT favors....

Hera are the square boxes The teal paper came as a 12x12 paper that i cut apart in strips and each strip repeats "Jeff and Shannon August 8, 2012". The gray/silver is the same paper just with the colors changed.

Here are the pillow boxes

Isn't that so much fun?!?!  To see more custom options you can check out their blog HERE.

Happy Crafting,

Some Of My Favorite Things

Hey everyone, I thought I would just pop in real quick and show you a card I made. I have had a rough week and didn't get a whole lot of crafting done,  but I did manage to still work on a few things one of them being this fun little birthday card.

I pretty much pulled all my favorite things to craft with and compiled them onto one card! Here is a quick little run down of what some of my favorite things are. I know you guys are all dying to know lol

1) Sweet Stamp Shop Stamps
2) SRM Stickers
3) Enamel Dots
4) Spray Mists (Heidi Swapp, Dylusions, and Glimmer Mist were used in the making)
5) Kraft Paper
6) October Afternoon Papers
7) Adhesive (of course I have to have that on my list! And that includes a bunch of different kinds: Pop dots, liquid, Scor Tape)

So, nothing like a good birthday card ready to go whenever I need it.

I am so happy with how this came out! Here are some of the exact products I used:

Holiday Classes

Hi Friends,

Hope everyone is doing fantastic!! My husband and I just got back late late late last night, like 3am late,  eeek, from picking up our two boys in Northern Cali. We met my parents about halfway between our place and theirs and it was such a short but very sweet trip. We did do a couple little touristy things, like seeing Shasta Dam (Fun Fact: Shasta Dam is the 2nd largest dam in the US. The largest dam is the Grand Coulee in Washington State.) and the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a great experience for all of us and so happy we could do it as a family.
Phoenix at Shasta Dam

Kris and Ryuu at Shasta Dam

Me and Kris just arriving in Redding
Just a couple pictures that I played around with. I took so many pictures, and then on our way home I kept asking my husband to take pictures of everything lol, so he has a TON too! Well at least when we are old we won't forget because we have so many pictures to remind us.
