Chalkboard Sign this week!

AND... to make it even SWEETER you can pick it up for $10 today only at the Sweet Stamp Shop.  No coupon needed, just drop it in your shopping cart HERE :)

Chalkboard Sign

I LOVE how popular the chalkboard look is right now! I work at a scrapbooking store and I am starting to see so many lines come thru the door with that look that I thought, "HHHMMMMM I should really feature this stamp set. It would coordinate so well with so many of the papers right now. And HUGE kuddos to Nicole for being so ahead of the game, huh?!?!?! I actually use this set ALOT! and one of my favorite stamps in general is that arrow. Crazy, I know but,  I probably use that arrow on about half my cards. Something about makes me so happy and my projects complete lol.

I have been on a little challenge kick lately, maybe I just need that extra little creative boost to get those juices flowing while we settle back into our school/work routine.

SO I am putting a little disclaimer today lol...I just so happened to have choose the SAME TWO challenges to play along with as Nicole did yesterday on the Sweet Stamp Shop Blog. This was not planned and I apologize for  being a repeat...BUT I would like to say, my cards are COMPLETELY different from her's. SO with all that being said...here we go :)

I just love love love the Curtain Call Challenge right now and am so inspired by it I decided to play along a second time.

Here is the inspiration
Amazing right??? So many elements to choose from!!
Here is my card:
I really wanted to incorporate the greens and blues from the picture into my card, I didn' t have quite what I was looking for so I decided to make my own. It is super easy to do and so I decided to share a little picture tutorial with you so you can do it too :)

First you will want to pick out your ink pads. I choose Peacock Feathers Distress Ink, Versa Magic Aloe Vera, and Versa Magic Aquatic Splash. They were perfect blue and green tones for creating that perfect background. You will also want to have a foam blending tool. It helps to create soft blending.
Pick your first color and apply ink in a swirly motion starting off the paper and working your way onto the paper until you have covered the area you want your ink. For me I wanted to create an ombre effect so I applied Peacock feathers to the bottom third section.
Repeat until you have applied all your colors. To help blend the colors blend them slightly up into the previous color applied.

Then, you just have to stamp and cut out the hearts and arrows in various colors. Stamp and cut out the banner piece. Adhere all the pieces to the card.
And it will look something like this. Fun huh. I loved adding the hearts and arrows to the card. It kind of reminds me of confetti or cotton candy (kind of more like the colors of cotton candy lol)

AND a little bonus for stopping in, I also played along with the Runway Inspired Challenge

I just loved the colors and the 'lines" on the dress for the inspiration. Here is what I did:
I also am entering this card into the Curtain Call Challenge: Carnival Craze

So have you added your creations to the Sweet Stamp Shop FLICKR lately???  We love to see what you have been working on lately with the Sweet Stamp Shop stamps.

How much you loving Chalkboard Sign....ALOT I hope, just remember you have TODAY ONLY to get this set for only $10. Head on over to the shop now HERE!

We also love to see your pins. And lucky for you I made some pin buttons...Have some fun pinning :)

Til next week

Hi Friends...How did you like the new release from Sweet Stamp Shop yesterday...Pretty amazing huh???? Didn't get a chance to see it yet, go HERE and check out all the amazingness :)
Wow this week has flown by! I cannot believe that time literally slipped right by me. It has been quite the week for me, I have gone back to more of "regular" schedule at work and both my kids started school...I am so ready to be in a routine again but sometimes it's a process just to get back into it, if you know what I mean :)

But know let's get on to.... Throwback Thursday and I am here with the amazing Color Wheel!!!
Colorwheel
Here is what I did:

Fun huh?? I am a colorful person and I {heart} this sentiment on the card... it makes so happy lol

Love the bonus cards well I have a couple...I decided to play along with a couple challenges this week to help out with the inspiration. With this week I really needed a little boost. I came across the Timeless Twine sketch they had  on their blog and loved it! So I decided to go with it and then combine it with Sweet Stamp Shops Use What You Have!

Here is the sketch:

And here is my embarissing stash of ribbon:

I picked out my pink and red twine from the "stash" and grabbed some of my Glitz Uncharted Waters paper and got to work. A few embellishments later and this is what I got. I am so happy with it.  Have you played along yet with the Use What You Have challenge yet??? Check it out HERE!

And FINALLY my last card:
I bought this paper from My Mind's Eye from my work awhile ago and it had the cutest glasses on it. I knew right away it needed to be paired with "shades of love" sentiment.

Throwback Thursday's with Sweet Stamp Shop- Chemistry

Welcome back to another Throwback Thursday! I announced the winner for last weeks Throwback Thursday. You can check it our HERE to see if you won! :)

But I am back with this super fun set "Chemistry". Even if you are not a science type kind of guy this set is so fun to play with along with all the GREAT sentiments included in it. AND...This set will be on sale for only $8 for one day only so don't wait to pick one up!

Check it out:

Chemistry

I played around with a couple ideas and this week nothing was coming together...Then I had an aaah HA moment. I loved what Michelle Duffy did on her layout this past week with the vellum overlay! If you missed that post you can check it out HERE. I LOVE Love love vellum so I wanted to try out that technique since the rest of what I kept trying to do was such a flop.

Here is my card:

I love how the vellum really tamed down my image and really allowed me to POP the rest of my elements away from it. AND, as you will notice, I used the Mini Periodic Table. But that stamp comes in a square so I tapped off the ones I did not want ink on and then stamped them all individually in a row. I then used my Aged Ivory Embossing Enamel from Stampendous on  a metal frame that was originally green and I embossed to better match. (if you have never done this before PLEASE BE CAREFUL YOUR METAL WILL BE VERY HOT!!!!!!) This is by far one of my favorite crafting techniques. You can practically emboss anything you can get the powder to stick too. I love embossing my picture frames. I will use multiple colors which gives it a marbled distressed kind of a look. It really creates an awesome effect.
I just loved the sentiment "You have a heart of gold"  and I coincidentally had gold heart pins from My Minds Eye that I just recently picked up from my work!!! I attached a green chevron ribbon to add an extra little pop and voila!  Fun HUH???

Don't worry I didn' stop there. I just loved the new Zombie. set and the boy and girl work perfectly for the "you two have all the right Chemistry" sentiment. It was like a match made in heaven. So playful, so fun :)

And of course to keep with the theme, I used vellum for my zombie people.

Here is the additional (NOT a Throwback Set I used today)
Zombies

Thanks for stopping in for another week of Throwback Thursdays! You loving that Chemistry set??? Head on over to the shop (HERE) now to get it for only $8. (This is a one day sale only)

Awesome!!

Well not much has been going on here!!! I have been so busy with, well, nothing imparticular. But, I have had time to whip up a card and do a little shopping lol I found some great scores and once they are hung I will take pics to show ya guys.

I had gotten this 8x8 paper pack "Uncharted Waters" by Glitz AND have been waiting to use it on something, so I decided to make a card with it.

Here it is:

I also stamped in the very bottom corner the arrows and Awesome sentiment from Sweet Stamp Shop! I just love the new Starts Here stamp set that was just released. I also accented with some Twine from SRM and little enamel dots from My Minds Eye. Also my boss picked me up this anchor from the recent Trade Show she went to in Las Vegas, which I believed is from Glitz as well.
