Whale Of A Day

Hello, Hello, Hello Everyone!!!

Yesterday was FANTASTIC!!! Not only did we get in 11 NEW paper collections at work SRM started their Design Team Call.

I was a drooling mess all day at work, I wanted it ALL, but sadly that is NOT in my budget so I decided upon three pieces of paper {I had cpl bucks in my wallet itching to be spent ;)} all from Echo Park a whale paper, dots, and a "cut aparts". I was so excited to get home and make something.

I decided to go with a party theme...baby, birthday, shower...keeping it along those lines and this is what I came up with...
I made two cards, a little goodie bag and a candy treat. The papers were from Echo Parks Bundle of Joy Baby Boy line.
I love that even though this was from the boy line you could easily use it for girls...and tell me, is that not the cutest paper ever!?!?! I am so in love with those whales, so happy and cheerful!
Ever since the glassine bags were released from SRM I have been hooked!!! To add some extra texture I embossed the glassine bag and then added my paper and fussy cut a whale to add a little pop. I also put a little 3D Crystal Lacquer on him.

I am telling you, I just cannot get enough of this paper! It paired so nicely with the dots and the kraft. Add a little hint of twine and then pop a sentiment on. AHHH makes me happy :)

I wasn't sure about this one at first I kept layering and layering papers but, I have to say I am so pleased with the way it turned out. I didn't add the whale to this one but the dots are so to cute too I had to make one last card. The natural twine was the perfect accent to add since it had so many other colors going on it helped to bring a little balance to the card. AND I couldn't resist I popped a little of the SRM sticker stitches to the yellow patterned paper.

Hope you enjoyed!!

Tye Dye Effect

Good Morning!!!! Well it is rainy here today (kind of nice since it has been so dry!) But that didn't stop me from thinking of bright sunshiny days and all the beautiful colors that come with it.

Check out this fun and cheerful card that was inspired by tye dye.

I used the summer collection of Tim Holtz Distress Inks to create the background color and then to create the spots I added some of my new favorite spray from Art Anthology "Glorious" (yellow color) and also some of the Dylusions "Yellow Zest". Is that not just the funnest effect ever. I normally use the water, but decided to change it up a bit and see what I could get from the colored sprays. I just love you bright this is and so tye dye-ee!!  What do you guys think???

And, the white letters mmmm... they add that little extra pop to the card!
I have found that the lighter colored sprays give the best effect but the dark ones still look awesome. Now go pull out all your distress inks and your sprays and give it a go!!! Let me know what you all think :)

Have a wonderful day,
xoxo

Life In Color

We got in some new Coloration sprays from Art Anthology, let's just say, I am IN LOVE. They are sooo vibrant and the colors mix so well together. Since no one at work has tried any of the sprays I wanted to make a sample for the girls and the customers to see what they looked like. Last night I had to run up to my work and I brought my Sister in Law with me, I had her pick out three colors to work with. She choose Glorious (yellow), Watermelon (pinky-red), Juicy (orange).

Look at how vibrant those colors are. I ended up spraying the colors on my craft mat and then pressed the white cardstock onto the spray. I just love how it meshed the colors together. The blending is amazing.
I added some little Heidi Swapp embellishments, Washi Tape, and a SRM sticker sentiment to finish it off.
To add just a hint of sparkle I actually put stickles on the back of the crystal clear buttons. It was just enough to add a little something extra

Surprise!

I am back...Sorry, I haven't done much posting lately. Life has TOTALLY over taken me, aaaahhhh!!!!!

But, I am here to share with you a project I designed for an upcoming class :) (If you are in San Diego and would like to join me for class click here to see details and phone number is toward the bottom. Not in San Diego, kits can be mailed, just follow the same link for number) And, as you all know I love to teach and I LOVE mini books, so I am pretty excited to share this book with you.

When I first saw the Surprise line from Bo Bunny, the colors totally won me over, bright cheerful and works for both boy or girl and can be used for any age.

Take a look...

I just love to add pockets to my books. They are PERFECT for storing "stuff" and this mini book is no exception.

Well I am off to greet the world (aka going to work) and eagerly anticipating the arrival of my Gramma and my little brother from Washington. They will be here until next Sunday (this is my grammas annual visit and she usually brings a brother or sister with for me to see), YAYAYAYAYAYYAYYAYYAYA!!!!!!!!!

Happy Crafting,
xo
