This week I took my inspiration from the Play Date Cafe's challenge blog. The theme for this week's challenge was, It's a {Splash} of Neon. I just LOVED their color scheme they had going...Black, white, and neon yellow (although it looks green to me and that is what I used for my card, neon green)
It's VERY TRENDY this week just like the stamp set. I didn't enter my card in the challenge since it was over before Thursday's Throwback, but it is still fun to play along and a GREAT way to draw your inspiration from. I was also going to use a sketch from another challenge blog but I ended up doing my own thing once I broke out the stamp set and got to work.
This is my card that I came up with:

Here is a fun little "extra" for you as well :)
- Stamp and cut out three big hexagons and one small then distress the edges
- On one edge cut a slit just to the middle
- Glue the slit together slightly overlapping the edge to creat a "cone shape"
- Glue the rest of the layers together and add a crystal, brad, or pearl
So, like I mentioned above I am doing a fun little giveaway today!!!! You will have unitl midnight tonight to do just a couple(very simple) little things so don't be shy hehehe:

ReplyDeleteThrowback Thursdays are awesome! Totally makes me look twice at my abandoned supplies buried in my stash. :) Love your card!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post!! We all tend to forget older sets of stamps and/or card making basics...what a fun way to remind us! LOVE both cards and am soooo going to try your little faux flowers out. And I'm totally giving your little post and Sweet Stamps Shop a shout out on FB, what a fun idea having a Throwback Thursday...genius! (facebook.com/denamiaddict)

ReplyDeleteI'm new to SSS so I wasn't around to see the reveal of this when it was new but thank goodness for Throwback Thursdays because I get to see all the prior reveals just as if they were brand new! I love this card too, not a fan of neon (had enough of that in the '80s!) but this works!
ReplyDeleteAwesome card!! Such a versatile stamp set. :) I just got the "Starts Here" set in the mail earlier this week and can't wait to play with it!
