Using Stickers With Your Sweet Stamp Shop Stamps

Hey everyone,

I am back on the blog with Sweet Stamp Shop to show you how easy it is to use your Sweet Stamp Shop stamps to accent your stickers, and if you are anything like me you probably have a TON of stickers just hanging out.  My favorite ones to use are the nice big bold ones, usually dimensional too, you know, the kind that really make a statement! They lend themselves more easily to stamps as well. You can really dress them up and turn maybe a somewhat boring sticker into a masterpiece with just a little stamping. I generally let the sticker inspire me and then find the stamp(s) I want to use to really enhance it. I love how with stamping you don't just have to stamp an image onto a card and call it done, you can stamp and color your images in, you can cut them out, there are just so many possibilities.

Well here is what I did and to see more inspiration head on over HERE to see my blog where I show some other possibilities you could do :)

I had found these FUN holographic stickers from Joann's awhile back and knew they would go perfectly with the Dia De Los Muertos set! And they sure did!

So, I first stamped a bunch of the roses on watercolor paper and colored them in with black and gray, and then fussy cut around all of them. (I wanted to go with a CAS approach to the card so the stamped images and sticker could really stand out.) Using a white background I adhered 2 roses down on either side using the sticker as a guide for the placement I wanted. Then once they were down I adhered the sticker onto the center of the card, then pop dotted two more roses in front of the bottom of the sticker.  Then finished off with Dia De Los Muertos sentiment. Easy huh?!?! AND... I loved how much it came out that I made the companion (the wife :)  ) You know behind every good man is his wife, (well) I think that is the saying lol. If not it should be.

And here they are together. I am so happy with the way they turned out and love them sitting next too each other. Not to mention how fun are holograms anyways?!?!

Here are some fun bonus cards using the Dia De Los Muertos, the Triangle Style, and the Fall Gratitude...

As you can tell I am really getting into the festive spirit. This is always my favorite time of year. I just love all the holidays!!!

Here are the sets that were used on today"s cards:

So how are you loving the CAS? Do you find that you neglect your stickers? Leave me a comment below on how you like to accent your cards, do you find you have a go to...you know like enamel dots, sequins, paint splatters (p.s.-those are all my favorites lol)

Challenge Time

Hello Friends :) I played along with a  couple challenges this week.

Here is where I entered my card:

(although, this was my first time playing along with them and I was unable to find the rules section. I only used 4 of the 5 colors and not really sure if that is "allowed" but I am still entering it in.

Here is my card. I stamped the silhouette couple from Kiss Me set from Sweet Stamp Shop and the feathers and banner are from the Dia De Los Muertos set from Sweet Stamp Shop. The Frame is from Freckled Fawn and the enamel dots are from My Minds Eye.

I embossed the background with the Triangles embossing folder from Cuttlebug.

And just for fun here is another card I made using the the Kiss Me set along with SRM stickers, flowers, pearls, and ribbon.

Here are the sets I used on my cards:
Dia De Los Muertos

Kiss Me

Thanks for stopping in. Will see you soon :)

Fall Is In The Air...

Hey Friends and Happy Friday to all of you. First off,  I just have to say, I am so glad to be back with Sweet Stamp Shop and excited about my new role as the Design Team Coordinator. I hope I make all my new (design team) friends proud!

Well, I questioned myself as I was typing the title name of this post, as the temperatures are supposed to be close to the 100's or so!(...eeeekkkkk this is NOT the September weather I have ordered!!!! :) Can't wait for something cooler, because it sure is messing with my creativity!!! Do you guys find it hard to craft when it is hot???

So to help me channel into that fall season I decided to make some fun cards with lots of depth, texture, and color. Fall is one of my most favorite seasons, it is about neck and neck with spring. I LOVE the smells, the colors, the feel, the food, the layers of clothes, lol everything. It just makes me feel warm and cozy and happy.

So here is my fall inspired card:
On my first card I really wanted to convey the depth and layers of fall. I wanted to go with browns, greens, and yellow-y/oranges to capture that "look".  Then I broke out my Calendar stamp set to create a base on vellum, added a couple Maya Road owls, and then using the Fall Gratitude stamp set I stamped and cut out two trees on patterned paper.
I Glued one tree flat down and popped the second one up on foam squares. Then, I stamped and trimed around "Give Thanks"and using more foam squares adhere down. I finished off with some bling and ribbon.

How do you like those layers??? Fun huh?

I loved how this card came out, I feel that I was able to translate my vision of fall into a card. What do you think? Do I have any fellow fall lovers out there? Leave me a comment below I would love to hear. :)

Here is my Bonus card for you.

I found this picture on pinterest HERE and it really spoke to me (plus I WANT the hose spigots too they are soo cute and fun!!)

I loved the pattern and simplicity of these. Not to mention color scheme was GREAT.
Here is what I did:

How do yo like the CAS card??? I just love all the colors that are in this card and the touch of glitter. To add a little dimension I pop dotted the blue square and created a pennant banner that popped up just a bit. :)

Here are the sets I used and don't forget to stop by the Sweet Stamp Shop to pick yours up and help me channel in some cooler weather!!!!

Pencils....

Hey everyone, hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. I spent my Labor Day in a pool :) It was pretty much awesome!!!

Exciting News...The brand new Fall Design Team is being announced on the Sweet Stamp Shop blog today!!!! I am also going to be the Design Team Coordinator!!!! YAY.

Come and meet everyone on the team and say HI!!! You can find it all HERE :)

Well it's all about the school season and if you have children, you probably had to go buy a TON of back to school school supplies, like pencils, markers, crayons, ruler, paper, notebooks, etc. AND like always we buy more than enough pencils lol, would hate to not be able to find a pencil right in the midst of trying to do homework, right???  So keeping that in mind,  the other night we went to Barnes and Noble to cool off from this crazy hot weather we have been having here in SoCal and I decided prime oportunity to look through some magazines and get some inspiration. While flipping through the pages (and I am sorry I do not remember which one it was I had about 6 or so of them lol) I saw some "look what you can do with washi" ideas, one of them was covering your PENCILS!!!! (BUT, of course one of my first thoughts was "um why didn't I think of that" lol.) I LOVED it, such a quick and easy thing to do but so much fun at the same time. They would even make great teacher gifts as well.

So I ran with the idea of washi covered pencils and decided to play around and have fun creating my own version and this is what I came up with...

I did three different themes, Back To School (of course), Everyday Fun, and Christmas.

For the Back To School I used the stack of books on the Geek Chic set from Sweet Stamp Shop.
I started at the bottom of my tag and kept layering the books til I got to the top. Then using my watercolor pencils I colored all the books in. I just love how all the colors really just gave it an extra little pop! I finished off with a SRM sticker sentiment from "Life Is Good".

On the Everyday Fun and Christmas one I went a little more simpler. I of course used more SRM stickers and then just tied them off with some fun little ribbons.

Here are the SRM stickers I used
Sticker Sentiment "Happy Holidays" (Dear Santa)
Sticker Sentiment "Life Is Good" (Lovin Life and Seize The Day)

Washi Tape:
MT
MT Kamoi
Michael's Brand

Ribbons:
May Arts
SRM (Twinery Twine)
Other Findings

Thanks so much for stopping by, now go get your craft on!!
