New Fusion Challenge and Team Up with CAS(E) This Sketch

Hi everyone some exciting things are happening today we are teaming up with all the girls at CAS(E) This Sketch and have a TON of inspiration to show you.  Rules are still the same you can use either the sketch, the photo, or both and you can link up at both challenges.

Don't forget to stop over and congratulate all the winner on the last fusion challenge HERE.
PROCEDURES:
1. Play with just the sketch challenge.
2. Play with just the inspiration photo challenge.
3. Or you can create FUSION by combining BOTH challenges into one card.
4. Use the challenge graphic and link back to Fusion in your post.
5. Please read the other considerations on the Our Rules Page before playing along.

I combined both the sketch and the photo on my card. I just loved the elegance and color palette which made it designing my card a flash.
I used watered down liquid glue and splattered it on my card and then sprinkled some glitter over it I had some fun gold and kraft triangle paper that matched perfectly for my pennant. I layered it with the laugh and today sticker and then added the let loose which I stamped using the Stinky Skunk set from Sweet Stamp Shop. To finish it off I added some flowers and ribbon and a cute little gold glittered heart. I just loved how this card came together. :)

Stinky Skunk

Easy Candle Holder Gift

Hello everyone...Happy Monday! I am back (on the Sweet Stamp Shop Blog) with another color challenge, a simple semi-homemade project, and some fun BASIC photo tips for the point and shoot kinda camera :)

...and before I forget...make sure to join our facebook release party event, Sweet Stamp Shop has a brand new "to die for" release tomorrow but we always have fun the day before in our fb group :) just go HERE to join in.

First a Big Congrats to winner of the first Color Me Sweet, Michele Duffy! Thank you so much for playing along!

Make sure to stop on over Michele's blog and give a shout out for being this weeks winner. Yay!

Also, a big thank you to everyone else who joined in too!
Here is this weeks color challenge Teal, Creamy Orange, and White.
Color Challenge
Here are the rules:
  1. You must use the color palette only (neutrals are ok…ex- black, white, cream, etc)
  2. You must use Sweet Stamp Shop
  3. You must upload to Sweet Stamp Shop Flickr to be entered into the challenge
  4. You must have LOTS of fun and spread the word
Please Note: This will be a minimum requirement challenge. We will offer random prizes once we have at least 25 entries plus we will feature the winners on the Sweet Stamp Shop facebook page and my blog (and maybe other places too ;) ). Otherwise we will choose a winner and you will be featured on the Sweet facebook page and my blog (and maybe other places too)

Here is what I easily put together with the help of a candle holder from the dollar store :)
Here is how to make your own:
  1. Using twine or thin rope wrap around your jar about 20 times or so (until you get the desired width)I applied a liquid glue (Aleene's high tack) as I wrapped it around to make sure it wasn't going to move after I was done.
  2. Using a wide ribbon (I have a few different colors of this silk pleated ribbon which works GREAT, I believe it is from Maya Road) glue down to center of twine
  3. Using a thin ribbon and one that works well to tying bows wrap and around and tie a bow. Secure with glue.I used 1/8th in. scor tape instead of a liquid. Just so it didn't soak thru the ribbon.
  4. Stamp and fussy cut the elephant.
  5. Using a small tag stamp "Hang In There" and attach to your bow
  6. Glue Elephant to center of bow
This makes for a perfect little gift. You can stuff it full of candy, candle, gc or whatever you heart desires.

Photo Tip:
(Jic you would like to know- I have a Nikon CoolPix Camera)
So now that you know what kind of lighting you need to get "that picture" let's talk about what kind of setting to put your camera on...Close Up.
  •  Since we don't have that amazing blurr that you can get with a fancy camera you have to adjust the setting and also know where to place your cards when taking the picture. I always have mine on close up, it will help place more focus on the the object that is closest to the card and make your backdrop a little more faded...not really blurred.
  • I use two 12x12 papers for a base and a backdrop (more on choosing those at a later time) and then place my card about 8-10 inches away from the backdrop in the center.

So here is an example of what it would look like right next to the paper. (about 1.5" away from the backdrop. Notice the difference in the backdrop also notice how the jar doesn't "pop out" as much.

Here is a side by side comparison to really see.
Cool Huh? What a difference using your close up setting and simply moving your project out from the paper can make for your photograph.
Make sure to stop on over at the Sweet Shop to pick up your Elephant Heart Stamp Set

So, don't forget to show off your photo skills by playing along with the color challenge. I would love to see all of you over there. And make sure to check out the Sweet Release tomorrow over on the Sweet Stamp Shop blog.
    Thanks for stopping in!
